Robert Nida is a shareholder and senior litigation counsel with Nida & Romyn, P.C. Mr. Nida litigates cases in state and federal courts, administrative and governmental agencies, and has extensive experience before arbitration panels. He has substantial experience in all areas of construction and business litigation, ranging from case development, challenging pleadings, discovery management, motion practice, complex brief writing, case resolution in mediations, and substantial experience in arbitration hearings and trials. In the last year, Mr. Nida first-chaired a jury trial through verdict, completed a 50 day arbitration hearing, and other complex proceedings.
Mr. Nida has successfully represented businesses in complex commercial and contract disputes, including coordinating multiple parties construction claims valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars on some of largest public and private construction works projects in California and New York, including airports, subway systems, prisons, bridges, ports, schools, hotels, hospitals and universities.
Mr. Nida has extensive experience in employment and labor law, often advising companies in human resource policies and decisions, and defending employment litigation including wrongful termination, race and gender discrimination, wage & hour disputes, language discrimination, ADA and public entity union disputes.
Mr. Nida also has considerable experience litigating commercial accident and product liability cases, including wrongful death cases and construction equipment cases. Mr. Nida has represented defendants in accident cases before CAL-OSHA, criminal courts and administrative bodies.
Robert Nida also has experience representing parties in cases involving entertainment matters, real estate, accounting and partnership disputes, construction defect, insurance disputes and other business matters.
As part of his regular practice, Mr. Nida serves as litigation general counsel to both private and publicly traded companies, wherein he advises and manages hundreds of millions of dollars in litigation throughout the United States, including on behalf of Tutor Perini Corporation (TPC- NYSE).
Mr. Nida has also served as lead counsel, drafted briefs and argued cases before the California Court of Appeal, United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and has filed petitions with the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Nida also has authored numerous professional and scholarly articles on Constitutional Law.
